10 Reasons Why Christmas Is The Best Time Of Year
Christmas films all the time, all day, every day
Ok, so I’m not going to spill the beans on what my fave movies are as you can expect that later this week. Butttt, popping a good old classic on, drinking a hot chocolate and relaxing with families is just such a wonderful thing to do. Christmas movies provide me with all the emotions, I’ll laugh, cry, feel love and anger. All wrapped up in one festive film.
Decorating the tree and your house into a festive overload!
Baubles, tinsel, random dancing Santa. Like what more could you want? Christmas decs are the best part. Well unravelling the fairy lights in a shitty task, but someones got to do it right. And once the hours of hard work have come to an end. Sitting back and seeing your explosion of festivity, you’ll feel warm inside. Nothing can beat that.
Christmas shopping – like who doesn’t love gifting?
I find so much joy in buying presents for others! Like searching around each stores gifting section, figuring out what would be the perfect present for each family member. It is just so exciting. I always love how festive the stores are as well, you don’t get as much joy out of online shopping for Christmas pressies. But once you start gathering the presents together. You end up feeling like Santa. With your cupboard full of pressies that you’re secretly hiding away from everyone.
Baking Christmas goodies ~ gimme all them gingerbread men
Well in general, Christmas food is ace. It makes you feel full, you enjoy every bite, none of that light healthy crap you get during summer. You’ll be overindulging in pigs in blankets, turkey, sweets and baked goods. If you are good at baking then you will fill your home with the scents of Christmas goodies, such as cinnamon or ginger. Or you could just light a candle and pretend you baked some tasty treats.
Spending quality time with your family and friends
This is what Christmas is all about. Taking time to appreciate and be grateful for everything life has given you. No matter what you believe in. Christmas is the time of year that pulls your family together. You’ll be sitting around the tv watching Eastenders Christmas special, move on to a classic game of monopoly and then end up falling asleep on the sofa. Like who doesn’t like doing that all in the comfort of your friends and family. And let’s not forget all the pre-Christmas parties you’ll be attending with your fab friends.
Everything is festive! Your town, the radio, houses and people
I’m so happy this year. I feel like everywhere got festive just a tad earlier. Which is amazing. Seeing my city covered in fairy lights, the shops filled with polar bears waving at me – just love it. And then you pop the radio on and Extra Xmas is on. It is just everywhere. There is nowhere for you scrooges to escape. Literally, Christmas is the best time of year!!
Drinking hot chocolate 24/7 without judgement
I’m an all year round hot chocolate girl. But this time of year is when coffee shops get slightly more fancy and everyone is wanting that chocolate orange hot chocolate. And you could literally indulge in hot chocolate all day, and no one would care. You get that one with the gingerbread sticking out because you know it’s CHRISTMAS!
Adorable Christmas Markets!
Wandering around a Christmas market brings so much joy. Seeing all the handmade decorations, smelling the delicious food, and being all wrapped in 10 layers. There is just something about it that is so wonderful. If you haven’t ever been to a Christmas market, you need to! I’m going to an actual German Christmas market this year, and they are literally my fave! But if you can’t make it to Germany then get your butt to Winter Wonderland. It’s Christmas on steroids.
Snow – if we get some…
So, snow. Well, who doesn’t love freshly laid snow? The snow which is great for snow angels and snowball fights. Admittedly, we get this for a day or two every year or so. And then we are left with the horrible slush. But if you just focus on the good stuff. It’s amazing.
Festive cheery Christmas music
Again, like the Christmas movies, you’ll get to know my faves later on this month. Anyways, I’ve been listening to Christmas tunes for months now. Like since October. From pop, acoustic, piano, classics, any type. Just the lyrics are so beautiful ~ well most of them are. And you’ll always feel warm and happy inside when listening to Christmas music as it just reminds you of the best time of year!
So that’s it. That is why I think Christmas is the best time of year. And I really hope you are excited about my blogmas and enjoyed my day 1! I’m so delighted to share with you all my Christmassy content. I’d love to know your favourite things about Christmas time, let me know in the comments below,
