Just 3 more days until Christmas! I’m so excited to just spend it relaxing, eating yummy food. And seeing the faces of my loved ones when I give them their presents. As I said a couple blog posts ago, I will no longer be focusing on beauty, you can check that out my reasonings why: I Don’t Longer Want To Be A Beauty Blogger Anymore. And today is the start of that shift into something that I’m more into. I’ve been watching and reading a lot of book recommendations and I really enjoy self-help videos. So I thought I would give books ago. There are thousands, probably millions of self-help books on the market. Some which are rated amazing, some which are probably a load of rubbish.
I have only read/listened to a couple books so far, Girl Boss and The Secret. Both very eye-opening and inspiring books. Girl Boss if you haven’t heard of it looks at the creator of Nasty Girl’s journey into creating and bossing an amazing clothing brand. The Secret focuses on the law of attraction, which is something I’ve been slightly practising but want to delve into more deeper in the coming months.
Reading is an amazing thing to grow as a person. There is so much information out there in books. It is so different than gathering bits of information from the internet. The author has poured their heart and knowledge into the books and is basically a mentor. So many successful people dedicate time to reading each day, each week. So this is something I really want to do in the new year.
This book is about loving who you are, loving what you can’t change and how to be a general badass all the time. It’s apparently really inspirational but also straight to the point.
It probably sounds worse then what it seems. It’s about people. Understanding how they think, and how you can relate to them to get something from them. He talks about how to approach relationships and how to get the most of out them so you can progress.
This book is about giving fewer fucks and redefining what really matters to you. Sarah talks about living your best life, putting your effort into things that really matter. And tbh, it’s a pretty looking book haha.
I really like the idea of spending time being mindful and this book does exactly that. It shows you simple ways to practice mindfulness, allowing you to be more peaceful. And with this being my last term of university I think a bit of mindfulness will be needed.
Sometimes I’m a morning person, sometimes I’m not. This book intends to teach you ‘life s.a.v.e.r.s’ which help you get more done and live a fab life. ‘If you dedicate one minute to each step in the morning you’ll start achieving your goals’. Reviews actually say people are happy to wake up in the morning, so I’m definitely wanting to give this a read.
So there we have it. The 5 self-help books (there are many more) that I want to read in the upcoming year. If you have read any books like the ones above please let me know your opinion in the comments below. Also, don’t forget to check out some of my previous blogmas posts >>Winter Skincare Routine<< and >>50 Things To Do At Christmas Time<<.
