5 Things I Want To Achieve By The End Of 2017

5 Things I Want To Achieve By The End Of 2017

It’s November. ~what the heck~ where has this year gone? As it comes to the end of 2017. Why not fit in some more achievements into this year. I’m not going to use this post as a reflection as expect that at the end of the year where hopefully some of these things that I’ll discuss will feature!

Not all of these are going to be crazy big. As honestly, I’m a uni student with very little time to be doing something crazily amazing such as skydiving. So they are going to range from little too mildly okay accomplishments.

1. Complete no spend November *successfully*

I’ve set a very strict rule to not spend any money on myself in regards to anything other than essentials. The essentials include food and toiletries. I’m being very strict. I’ve had a good splurge over September-October, so now its time to cut down. I am letting myself buy Christmas presents for others if I see something that’d be perfect. The thing is that its mine and my boyfriends 5 year anniversary, so a nice date night might be the exception but that will be all ~and it’s at the end of the month anyway.

2. Finish this term by achieving 1st – high 2:1 in all of my coursework

So if you have been following my twitter >>here<< then you would see how determined I am to get a first this year. Literally, my work ethic has increased greatly. Study for hours on end, meeting with academics 100x more than usual. I feel like this is the year that my overall grade will hit the 70, and therefore I’ll graduate with a first. My second term of the second year, I got 2 2:1’s at 68/100 and the other 5 bits of coursework at strong firsts. This shows that I have the potential. It’s just continuously improving and being determined.

3. Hit some nice stat goals across my socials and blog

So realistically numbers do mean something, of course, they do. I’m a numbers girl. But the past couple months have been rather poop and that’s due to starting university again and trying to figure out how I’ll squeeze blogging into my rather busy study schedule. I would love to achieve 2.5-3k on Twitter, 1k on Insta (so unrealistic, so gimme a follow), see a bit more growth on my Bloglovin’, Facebook and Pinterest. But my main goal is to increase numbers on Covet Luxe. I would love to finish 2017 with 8-10k all-time views and maybe 2-3k average monthly views.

4. Workout 2-3 times a week

This was something I mentioned in my first ever blog post on my old free site, you can check it out >>here<<. And basically, 2017 hasn’t been the year of my new gym body. But the start of the academic year I was on it with the gym. But as my workload has increased my time spent at the gym has decreased. I’m making it 1-2 times a week which I’m just not ok with. So if I can hit 2-3 times I’ll be so much happier. I really enjoy going to the gym. It’s me time. And I 100% recommend it to people who get stressed. I pop a video or two on and cycle away and bam, calories burnt. And doing an intense leg session is soo satisfying to me.

5. Consider doing blogmas – if this is done I’ll feel sooooooooo proud of myself

Ok, so I keep pondering on this idea. And it would be so cool if I could do this. Just imagine all the amazing christmasy content I could produce. As Christmas is my favourite time of the year, Halloween just kinda sucks for me. I would love to be apart of the blogmas gang *is this even a thing*. I do have a reading week next week. Which I intend to spend most of it working on my coursework. But I also intend to spend some of it working on my blog. Churning out some scheduled posts so that when deadlines hit, I’m not sat up at night writing out a post, which is exactly what I’m doing now.  So, would you like that? 25 days of Covet Luxe posts? Or do you think I should just play it safe with 2 posts a week like normal? Lemme know!

So I hope you liked this more personal post. I bloody enjoy writing them. As sometimes makeup can get repetitive even though I do love me some lipstick and eyeshadow content. And don’t get me started on skincare, just did a massive haul before no spend November so can’t wait to share with you what I got!

Do you have any goals you want to achieve by the end of 2017? Let me know below!

  2. 2nd November 2017 / 9:51 am

I’m so happy that you finally hit 2000 on Twitter! 🙊 Blogmas is something that I have been planning for so long, but I don’t seem to get anywhere with?! I’ve got quite a few ideas, just need to organise all my thoughts and get it written up.. I’m sure you’ll smash all your goals, and good luck with No-Spend November! 🖤

You’ve set yourself some great goals 😍 I try not to spend every month but have no will power! Good Luck & I believe you can achieve 😊

Oooh Blogmas would be fab but challenging, I’m literally a hermit at home and the idea of it sends me into some anxiety induced frenzy, haha! I feel you with the no spend thing, Christmas presents come first at this time of year but there’s soo many cute jumpers and pairs of boots around so it’s so hard!

Good luck with your no spend month! I’m trying to save too but I’ve had the week off work with my boyfriend so it’s much harder to not spend as we tend to always go for food or go shopping. I’d say do Blogmas if you feel you can, prep in advance, just don’t stress if you have to do less posts as your content will be amazing anyway! I can’t wait to see what you post. I’m with you on gym, it’s so hard to go more than a couple of times but we got this girl x

  8. 2nd November 2017 / 8:06 pm

I love your goals! Mine are quite similar: keep the grades up, workout more (even though I dont ever hit the gim because its far away) and I’m also thinking of blogmas! I think you should do it if you can! I mean there’s NEVER too much of Christmas!

  9. 2nd November 2017 / 8:07 pm

Some great goals there. I really hope you achieve them all. Blogmas is a great idea, such a lot of work. I’m planning on a 12 Days of Christmas instead as it’s far more manageable.

These are some great goals. This post makes me feel motivated to set my own goals for myself! Good luck especially with your no spend November, I just know that I would fail instantly. I spend so much on pointless things! x

Sounds like you’ve got some fab goals girl. Totally smashing uni! I ended my second year just scraping a firsts I would love to carry that on this year. Blogmas sounds so exciting – I’d love to do it but my dissertation is due January so maybe I’ll just try a full month of blogging sometime after christmas!xx

Great post & goals. For me I have a similar goal to you & that’s to increase my following, produce better photos & give my Bloglovin, Facebook & Pinterest some more love as they are very much neglected at the moment x

  13. 2nd November 2017 / 8:32 pm

Our goals are so similar! It’s my final year of uni and I am determined to graduate with a strong first, because I’ve been straddling that line between 68-72 for so long now. I’ve started planning my Blogmas posts as a little challenge to myself, so here’s hoping uni doesn’t take over too much x

These are such positive and productive goals I love it! I’m attempting blogmas this year and if I get it all done, I’ll be so proud of myself too. Definitely try giving it a go as Christmas is full of post ideas. By the end of the year, I want to reach 100,000 blog views, and completely finish updating my blogs theme so I can purely concentrate on content next year. Good luck with your goals!!

I can’t believe it’s November either! these are some great goals and also achievable. I need to set some for myself!

  16. 2nd November 2017 / 10:04 pm

Very concrete goals and you seem to be handling your academics and blogging passion so well. I’m sure you’ll achieve these!

  17. 2nd November 2017 / 11:26 pm

This year have gone super fast hasn’t it? I’ve set myself a goal to only spend money on bills, essentials, little one and Christmas presents for this month. Especially as we both go crazy for Christmas and also have a wedding to save up for straight after Christmas is over. The sooner the Christmas shopping and family party is planned the better. Good luck with no spend November. I’m pretty sure I already follow you on all my social media but if I don’t I’ll give you a quick follow to help you reach your stat goals. Would also love to read your Blogmas posts if you go ahead and take part this year <3 loved your post and good luck

I hope you achieve all of these! Blogmas is so much fun but also a lot of work so if you decide to do it you should definitely start planning soon and even write posts before December so that you don’t have to spend the whole month in front of a laptop like I almost did…. Bloggingwise I’d love to hit 1k on Bloglovin by the end of the year but I think that might be a bit unrealistic so I’m not holding my breath. I’ve been trying to workout 2-3 times a week too + going for walks with my dogs so I really hope I’m able to hit my second or third weight milestone :)x

  23. 6th November 2017 / 9:24 am

I would love to do blogmas but I know with work and general life commitments it will be hard to quit. But in terms of blog stats I can totally relate with this and its great you want to strive and aim big.! It will take you and your blog so far. I am trying to adopt the same ethos. The only thing I do find hard is the spending lol especially with winter fashion now coming out its my favourite time of year and i am obsessed with winter fashion. Give me a coat, cute boots and oversized scarf any day lol. Maybe I need to try a no splurge month. I am going to try in December I think. Wish me luck! lol xx

Good luck with all of your goals! They all sound great. I found my second year at uni a lot easier than the first one and I was getting better grades because I knew what it was all about. Fingers crossed you’ll get to graduate with a 1st! It’s the best feeling in the world, I’m telling ya. I’m also trying to work out around 3 times a week because I got soooooo lazy. Need to get back into it. Let’s do this!
