Merry Christmas! If you’re reading this on the big day then I hope you’re having a lovely day with your family. Remember to cherish these moments and tell everybody you love them! I feel like most families have some sort of Christmas routine. Even if it’s not a lot you do, you probably have a sense of routine. So I thought I’d let you into what my family and I get up to on Christmas day.
We wake up about 7:30-8 because I’m too excited to give everyone their presents. And trust me this isn’t early, I used to wake my parents up at 5-6am! So once everybody has made their way into the living room, we would get all the stockings sort out all the presents. Slowly we would go round and see what everyone received.
At about 9 my grandad, step-nan and great nan will come round for Christmas breakfast. They will give and receive presents too. We would have a mixture of food on offer. There will be a cooked breakfast, which is sausages, bacon and eggs. Then there will be salmon (for my grandad) and some pastries for me! Once we have finished we all end up on the sofa relaxing and watching some of the Christmas films and shows on tv.
I’m never too sure what time Christmas lunch starts I think about 12:30 – 1 ish, and we have starters. I always opt for a prawn cocktail with lots of sauce as it’s my favourite. Oh and we also pull some crackers which always have crappy prizes in. One year I want to get some really lovely crackers with some amazing prizes as a treat. The duration of the whole lunch goes on forever as we really love to drag it out. For the main course, there will be the meats, all the veg and millions of pigs in blankets. My brother and I are obsessed with these so we always make sure there are loads. The dessert is usually a Christmas pudding and a random another dessert. I’m not too sure what my nan is baking this year but it will definitely be tasty.
Once lunch is over with, we will sit about looking at our gifts, watch some more films and play games. We like Pictionary, monopoly, and the traditional wooden board games. We all get lazy and either go to bed slightly early or have a nap on the sofa. I also usually spend boxing day with my mum too, but this year I’m going to my boyfriend’s families and am excited to see what their routine is!
I really hope you like this little insight into how I spend Christmas day. Let me know how you have spent it in the comments below. And I really hope you enjoyed Blogmas, it has taught me a lot about the blogging world. I’m very happy I took part this year. Maybe next year I’ll do it again, or even vlogmas! If you would like to see what I got for Christmas then also let me know!
