My Ultimate Cosy Night In

My Ultimate Cosy Night In

It’s dark at half 4, half 4. This officially means winter is approaching. But winter doesn’t just bring rain, wind, darkness, cold and the possibility of snow. It brings cosy nights in, blankets, candles, jumpers and hot chocolate. My favourite thing to do is to have a cosy night in. Being snuggled up, warm, watching your favourite show or reading a book. Like nothing sounds better. ~ ok, I might be lying, being on a beach in the Maldives does sound amazing, and probably 10x better. But this is all we have right now.

So how do I spend my cosy night in?

Well, I pop my fairy lights on, light as many candles as I can possibly find. My current fave is from Aldi and it’s the Blackberry & Bay scent ~ it’s delicious! I then get into to cosy pj’s and chuck on my dressing gown. Top tip put your dressing gown into the tumble dryer for like 15-20 mins whilst you are lighting your candles and putting your pjs on. Once you pop it in you’ll feel like your in a warm cocoon.

I then start my winter skincare routine, which has been completely revamped – the post will soon be up, don’t you worry. And a cosy night in isn’t complete without a bit of pampering, so put a facemask on, ideally not a peel off. This is a cosy night in, you don’t want to experience any pain whilst you are pampering. Current faves are The Body Shop’s expert facial masks, T-Zone’s self-heating mask and 7th Heaven dead sea mud mask. Oh and don’t forget to be drinking a hot chocolate of some sort. Currently loving the honeycomb flavour by Options!

Whilst I’m pampering and winding down I love to pop a series on. And of course, it would have to be Stranger Things! If you haven’t watched this, you need to. It’s such a great show, but I’ll stop there. No spoilers, you just have to watch it.

And once the pampering is complete, my show has come to an end. I like to read a book and pop some Lush sleepy on to properly help me get in the mood for sleep. My current read is Tanya Burr’s new book. It’s amazing and literally the perfect read for a cosy night in. She talks about Christmas, and to basically have the best one ever. I’m taking so many tips from this, so hopefully this year my Christmas is extra special.

So I hope you enjoyed how I spend a cosy night in. I would love to know how you do a cosy night in? Do you enjoy a pamper? Or do you spend time working on a hobby? Let me know in the comments below.

This sounds like a great night in! My night in involves pyjamas and Netflix too, though I’m always anxious about lighting candles – I’m worried about setting something on fire! Great post! xx

  7. 8th November 2017 / 7:48 pm

This is exactly why winter is my favourite season! Love this!

Hi, you can’t beat a cosy night and watching something on Netflicks.

  9. 8th November 2017 / 8:24 pm

Ah I love this post! Totally agree, cosy nights in are made for binge watching shows (Stranger Things is amazing) and having a pamper. I hate that the nights are dark so early but totally agree that you just have to make the most of it! – x

  11. 8th November 2017 / 8:42 pm

I love how cosy this post is! I’ve not watched Stranger Things, I’m so behind haha. I love to have a bath, do my skincare, get into my pyjamas and get into bed accompanied by a fudge hot chocolate. I always have a hot water bottle in bed with me as well. I love the idea of making your dressing gown all warm! x

This all sounds perfect but I genuinely find it so hard to relax as I always feel like I have a million and one things to do! I haven’t started watching stranger things yet but I’ve had so many people tell me to, I need to get on it!

This is such a nice read that I already feel the need to be tucked away somewhere having a pamper night

  17. 10th November 2017 / 12:46 pm

Ah this night in is actual GOALS. I’m not going to lie, autumn and darkness are like my fave things so there really is nothing better than snuggling with a TV show and a movie!

  18. 10th November 2017 / 12:56 pm

Sounds like a great night in, would do the exact same except I would change Stranger Things to Riverdale or friends 😊

  19. 10th November 2017 / 2:09 pm

Ooh this sounds so cosy! I always light loads of candles and get into comfy pj’s when I’m having a cosy night in, although sadly I don’t have a tumble dryer! Warmed up dressing gown sounds like heaven! Looking forward to your winter skincare blog post 🙂 xxx

  20. 10th November 2017 / 3:32 pm

Oh my god, I would never have thought of putting my dressing gown in the tumble dryer but I am definitely going to start doing that?! I used to love putting my tights in the tumble dryer before I put them on when I was at school, that was the best feeling in the entire world.. 😂😍

It makes me really sad when it starts getting cold and dark earlier on, I will definitely be trying some of these things to keep my chin up! 🙂

The best bit about winter is how dark it gets so early because it means you can have a really long chilled out night in a candle lit room, snuggled uo on the sofa with a blanket and some snacks watching something. I generally end up watching some anime, nothing too violent, I just want something soft to calm down to.

  24. 10th November 2017 / 10:48 pm

How bloody amazing are those Aldi candles? I literally have them all around my flat – can’t say I save them for a cosy night in. I seem to be burning through them at an alarming rate! xx

Yes to Stranger Things! I just love this show, it’s so good! I didn’t even think it would be my cup of tea but it turns out it definitely is. I’m loving the 80s vibe as well. Cosy nights are the best! I haven’t had one for so long, I can’t believe it. I recently took in a stray cat and have been babysitting her every night to make sure she doesn’t damage the furniture or to let her out if she wants to go outside. But I love her so it’s all worth it. Great post!

I love having a cosy night in, especially as the colder weather rolls in. I love nothing more than having the window open just a crack to allow a cold breeze in that makes me want to snuggle under the blankets even more.

I can’t wait for finals to be over so I can relax like this! Usually I’ll spend a night in just trying to pamper myself as much as possible

I love cosy nights in! I usually like to curl up on the sofa with a good book and a cuppa. I feel like the only person who isn’t that into Stranger Things… I’m loving Gilmore Girls and Riverdale at the moment :)x
